England won their 2nd World Cup Qualifier in 5 days with a less than comprehensive performance against lowly Azerbaijan. The highlight of the game surely was the dude, brave enough to run across the pitch, and finally get tripped and restrained by England’s Paul Robinson. He’s a brave man, commentators suggested there were in the region of 3,000 Army stewards’ at the game, sod that!
The conditions didn’t help, with 60mph winds and practically a monsoon before kickoff, it was actually doubtful at some point whether the game would actually go ahead. None-tha-less, England recorded the result they needed achieve, a victory and more importantly 3pts. Sure it wasn’t pretty, but you don’t get a pt a goal, so hey, it’s not all bad… 
Michael Owen ended his goal drought and scored the only goal of the match, midway in the first half.
