An eye for design.

Before I started working, full time as a Graphic/Web Designer, I always considered myself enthusiastic for appearance, design etc. However since then I’ve noticed my eye for logo’s, layout and so forth has dramatically increased. Today, was a fine example – I was riding the bus to work, and all I could notice everywhere i looked was logo’s, brands and layout. It was, as though my brain was tuning into them, analyzing them, absorbing them, uncontrollably.

Later that day, I headed to KFC with some colleagues and that just topped it off, I looked up at the rich, visual menu’s/adverts and all I could see was how I would achieve them, which elements of the layout would be vectorized, which would be rastered, and which parts would be finished off, in InDesign. Quite strange really, but it’s a fine example for the passion I share about design, and to a degree my own work too. I think this is fairly evident at work, and at times I have considered whether my passion is matched by others, or more-over am I just overly picky? Maybe that’s a piece of what makes up a designer, after all there is a certain stigma that hovers over such job titles… Hmm…
