Skype!


Ok so how many of you Skype?

Who amongst you simply read that, and think… “HUH?”.

Well, cool no biggy… If you don’t know, here go and have a snoop at Skype and come back. In a few words, basically Skype is like MSN messenger in a way – except it’s orientated around making voice chats to one another primarily. Of course it’s not quite right to define as merely that, but people will understand it better that way. :)

Anyhow, I did begin this blog posting for a reason, my bad – pardon my ‘tangent-ness’ ( :lol: ). So yeah, I’ve done VOIP chatting before for free thanks to Apple’s iChat AV but never with Skype before. To tell you the truth, with iChat AV, i’ve never need to – I could do voice chat/conference plus video conferencing too all without any extra accounts using my AIM screen-names. Yet this was always limited to other people using iChat AV, and thus Apple Mac computers. So yeah, Skype was introduced to me, by a friend… Who seemed to take a lot of pleasure in the fact it seemed she had ‘one over on me’ on something tech based. Haha, thanks alot Joanne! :lol: To a degree, sure you did, but I did know about Skype… Just never needed to actually try it. I’m glad I did though, it works flawlessly, just like iChat AV, with my Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset (HBH660) so the whole time we chatted girl – I was sprawled out on my bed! Cool eh? It was cool to chat with you again, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon! How did the exam go?

I wanted to make this post, to recommend it to all the folks out there who have mic’s, but find it difficult to hookup with other people with mic’s and alike. It seems an easy way to do audio chatting over the internet, and most importantly it’s free. It’s great for me, given that i’m a Mac user – so I can’t audio chat on MSN and Yahoo! and it seems Windows users can’t utilize my Audio chat functions on AIM. So finally there’s an easy way! :)

Bianca, I expect you to get this… Maybe then you’ll finally realize my accent DOES suck, and that’s the end of it! :(

    Do you chat alot on the computer Steve?

    I normally just do webcam strips with people

    I don’t really, I talk to my friends on the computer, but not really strangers… :lol: Would seem a bit weird – too personal? *shrug*

    You keep them webcam strips well away from me mate, cheers! :lol:

    Of course I know what Skype is. I’ve considered downloading it for ages … but I don’t know, haven’t thought about actually doing it especially since I have yahoo, which is pretty good with mic. I just don’t really see its point? But then again, if I need to download it to hear your SUPERRR HAWT accent, then okay maybe. :P

    Nah but .. do you know how it would work with dialup? Would that effect the quality? Cos, you know how my comp is still ghetto. 8)

    I think it would work with Dialup yes, and I actually think it won’t be TOO bad – as long as you’re not doing a heap of browsing and CAM WHORING at the same time… We’ll have to try it sometime!

    Thanx for the shout-out Steve 8-) and YES, I was initially SHOCKED and most certainly derived A LOT of pleasure realizing that you had NEVER heard of Skype before; as a matter of fact, I was expecting a “duh – I’ve had that for like 10 years now *rolling eyes*” comment from your side of the pond :p … but hey!… there’s a brighter day for all of us after all, and I most definitely shone in front of your tech-pro eyes that day 8-) *pumped chest proudly showing off* LOL
    Bianca, he most definitely has a super-hot British accent – with a generous village dose in it, but hey… s’all good :p Nah, he’s cute! When are you calling me again Steve? ;)
    Skype rocks. I wouldn’t call it a messenger service; it’s more like an online phone, if that makes sense. And, most importantly, its FREE.
