Walkman phone’s rock!

I guess I bought my new phone at a good time. Recently, my iPod has begun playing around, freezing, refusing to boot and all kinds of crazy and annoying things. It seems, now, to have died completely, which is still very annoying! When I try and boot the iPod, I can hear a clicking noise for a while, and then the iPod shows a ‘sad face’. It seems very much like the hard drive is gone, broken… Dead. Annying too, because this has happened to me 3 or 4 times already, since i’ve owned a few different iPods. I spent 20 odd minutes on Apple’s site, and apparently, my iPod is out of the warranty threshold. That is highly annoying – I bought it 1/1/05! So it’s 13 months since I splashed out on it, sure… But get this, I had it repaired – well actually replaced by Apple on November 3rd, because the last one was screwed. Surely, that should mean I get my year’s warranty on the replacement unit? It’s a bit annoying, it’s 3 months since I got my replacement iPod, and now that one is screwed too – yet Apple are telling me, it’s tough? What?! I’m going to call them tomorrow, but I have a feeling they’re going to basically screw me over… :(

In the meantime, I have my W900i to tide me over, which I am actually warming to actually!
I’ve spent 30 mins or so, jamming some tracks into the little thing, filling up the internal memory with about 100 songs or so. It’s not so bad. The biggest frustration, is having to manage my music, manually – filling it, removing it and so on… I’ve got to work out a solution for that! Seen a few apps around that can grab iTunes playlists, and fill up my W900i for me. The actual walkman software doesn’t feel too bad really – has an iPod feel about it, in terms of the menu’s and so on… But I guess, how many other ways can you lay it all out? I am missing the fact I can’t play music per genre, on there. I’ve got to figure out if I can create playlists that group the content like that.. *shrug* Seems like i’ve got a bit of research, to get this exactly as I want. I’ve just bought a 2Gb Duo Pro, from some fella on eBay, so then I can really jam in a tonne of tracks to it. It’ll probably kill the phone!! Saying that, I have no idea what battery life is like… Yet. Could be a bit of a problem! Hmmm…
Overall though, I’m really liking having my music, literally on me, without having to carry an iPod too. Maybe it’s just the novelty of it, but either way, it does seem to kinda rock – alot more than the Moto ROKR! Heh  :P
