UKG Revisted

Thanks to my buddy, Martin who recently kick started an old flame within me, UK Garage. Through his new own new stuff, for which he makes up half the duo that is, Control-S, i’ve rekindled my love for UKG once more. It’s totally refreshing too, coming from a proper US R&B junkie, to once again be feelin’ some tunes from the UK. It’s got me reminiscing too, i’ve been enjoying some older tracks from heaps of different production teams, most notably DnD, Deliquent, Wideboys, Qualifide, Todd Edwards, MJ Cole among others. Now i’ve just got to get back on the bandwagon and check out more fresh stuff… Anyone wanting to do the same, here’s a Google Calendar i’ve whipped up with all BBC 1Xtra’s UKG shows… :)

Heard some killer cuts? Let me know, please! :)

    I don’t really like that

Do Oxide and Neutrino still make music?

Oxide and Neutrino? Not that I know of, but I never really was into So Solid anyhow, so It’s not the sort of stuff I keep up with. I can imagine Oxide probably still DJ’s inside So Solid, dunno for sure though.

Kris – I’m loving it, i’ll have to fix you up with a few tracks, loving some of the new vocal/4×4 stuff out there, so nice. :)

    Nice one Steve!

I’m yet to reply to your email so hold tight for that one. Oxide is producing hip hop now I believe, under an alias. Thats what I heard anyway, it may or may not be true! I’d be the last to admit it but Oxide was a pretty good producer – if it wasn’t for Neutrino and his camp vocals I think Oxide could have done alot more. Oh well…

Anyone reading this should definitely check out some of the new UKG, as Steve will hopefully agree with me at some stage, its SO much better than it was. Alot of great stuff coming out on a regular basis which is great! Check out our show on HypeRadio.co.uk every Sunday 8-10pm for all the most upfront UKG! :)

    Nice one!
