Dag & Red 0 Oxford Utd 1
Ok, so that makes two wins from two in the Nationwide Conference and things are looking up. Nobody ever says it’s easy, getting back into the league and I had my doubts pre-season. Especially after Oxford Utd lost to Banbury Utd (my hometown team) in a friendly 3-0. My friends took great delight in ripping it out of me, due to that.
Maybe this season, is finally a season to smile and enjoy, which is something Oxford fans haven’t really enjoyed, in recent seasons, especially for me, seeing Reading recently hitting the dizzy heights of Premiership football.
The title favourites were down to 10 men after 22 minutes as Quinn saw red for a professional foul on Paul Benson. But they took the lead on 57 minutes as Rob Duffy crossed for substitute Odubade, who slotted in from six yards.
Not a bad victory, away from home with TEN men. I am quite pleased. LONG may it continue! I didn’t realize we were considered ‘title favourites’, thats not something you hear everyday about Oxford!
