Ads.. Can you do it, err.. Now?

Went to work today, and about lunch-time, my boss quietly and cheekily said to me:

I’ve paid for some advertizing space in a magazine, and I need you to make the ad for me.

Cool I think, to myself, no problem. “When for?”

Kinda, ASAP – like tomorrow?

“Oh!” I think, so I had to go home, grab my PowerBook and my Camera and get some material, for a busy night trying to come up with something worthwhile for the ad. The ad, it turns out, was listed as being a mere ‘eighth’ of a page. But what good is telling me it’s an eighth, when I don’t know what it’s an eighth, of? Sure enough it turns out, the eighth equated to 67mm x 95.5mm. Now to me, that’s not much space, for a full colour advert, weighing in at, OVER £300! Well, regardless, I’ve just finished, I think it looks pretty good, all things considered, i’ll have to take my PowerBook in, to make any last minute alterations, but yeah… Pretty knackered now, and that’s a whole bloody evening up the swan. Awesome!

Speaking of Camera’s though, I’ve been contemplating replacing my Canon, for something more streamlined, with the mindset of having a more pocketable, less noticable device to happily snap pictures of the world… Any suggestions, anyone? Sony’s for me, aren’t good enough, i’d only ever look the main ‘camera’ manufacturers, rather than companies that appear to have Camera’s as a sideline venture. I recently saw a slim, Kodak Camera with 10x optical zoom, in a compact design with 10mpx image capacity. Now that sound appealing, i’ll have to do a little research on that… Ok, 3am, i’m calling it a night. :)

wow the ad sounds cool :) so this is what u were working at!

as for the cameras.. I’ve always been a true Nikon fan. Mine is a Coolpix7900 but i think they dont make those anymore.. The only problem that might occure with Nikon is that most of them might not be pocketable enuff for you :( but id deff go with a Nikon. As a matter of fact Im thinking of replacing mine to a more professional one, like Nikon D70 (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond70/)

Thanks girl, i’ll have a peek at that then. I’ve always heard great things abou Nikon, you’re right… But like you say, I can’t recall seeing any slimline Nikon camera’s, so that might be a problem.
