Busy Busy…
Man, i don’t know whats’ going on this week, It seems I’m getting more and more stuff being thrown my way, what the…!? Not content with a magazine article for last Friday, i’ve since had to re-work a form, and as of today get a flyer out presumably by the end of the week to promote our low prices on NGK Spark Plugs. Being a designer myself, i can’t help but critique the link I’ve just passed over there. NGK obviously have a good design team behind them, they’re a big organization worldwide and I admire most of their print work that comes our way. Yet I look at their website, like many others will do after me and think… What is going on? Look at it, It looks like it’d render on the back of a 26p stamp! I might even have to mention it, next time I see any rep. from NGK in our place… 
Anyhow, so yeah, things are a bit crazy at the moment there. Furthermore, a friend of mine has given me a friends address, someone in my ‘field’ or prospectively ‘my field’. I think the intention is for me to submit some work, and hopefully impress the ‘friend’. Whilst this is somewhat flattering, I am apprehensive to get ahead of myself. Alas though, it could possibly be a good break for me, though there is a bit of a stumbling block here. I consider myself fairly well educated in markup and layout in and around the current year. Yet when I look back towards any kind of portfolio of web work, I find so much of it being either some form of vapourware *cough EUG* or otherwise ‘overwritten’ as new versions are rolled out *cought MB360*. I really don’t have as much, as I SHOULD to demonstrate my skills within the web side of the game. Ironically, my weaker, print design has alot more example of my work, which peeves me somewhat given the difference in time, I’ve put into both areas of design. Regardless of that though, it’s not all doom and gloom, there are some ‘current’ examples of my work, and I sure can talk the talk that is technology. So should I need to, I guess I could preach symantics, css, xhtml, dtd, photoshop, mac os x, illustrator, etc etc… We’ll see.
After finishing workin on a document at 3am last night, I kinda took it upon myself to have a ‘night off’ tonight, though I am not sure if it’s going to work. I’ve just sat through 2 episodes of lost, which I really enjoy, and another is lined up, once I finish this post. I have to say though, I totally love the series, and recommend it! I am not one for TV, but this, in my view is worth a ‘butchers’ for sure. 
Tomorrow is another day though, so I guess i’ll be back ‘on it’ tomorrow, though If i’m honest, I am thinking I’ll start work on the flyer tonight… Because Football looms, tomorrow, Friday and Saturday! Ughhh…
