The World Of Karl Pilkington…
Being an avid fan of “The Ricky Gervais Show”, it seemed natural for me to pickup Karl’s book. I’d hear many shameless plugs about it, and when I was in town at the weekend, I picked it up from Ottakers, for seven quid. What do I think? Well… It’s OK I suppose, but not great. Why not? Well, I expected it to be, but there’s a bit of a flaw, which is maybe my own fault? I’ve been a fan since ‘day one’ of the trio’s podcasting debut and never missed an episode; and it turns out the core of the books contents derives from transcripts from the podcast. Whilst many of these moments are both memoriable and funny, I’d much rather relisten to the podcast, than read them in a book. There’s some funny/interesting pictures accompanying the book, as well as some pages, that are ‘unique’ – typically mindless rants and viewpoints from Karl, in a ‘note-like’ fashion, which for me are far more interesting. Alas, I don’t regret buying it, but I can’t help but think I expected more, sorry Karl.
Wanting to hear more about the book, or pick it up, here’s a great place to do so…
