Another weekend passes over…

Yep, another bites the dust! How many more is it, til Christmas? Not many, is my guess. Football was horrible this weekend, not only in the scoreline, which I dare not even repeat, either here, or to any of mates who ask, but also because of my boots. Oddly, after the first week, I was really impressed, but this weekend they’ve really chewed up my heals, and pulled alot of skin off them. My heals are really saw, after playing 90 minutes in them, despite feeling pain from 20 onwards. I hope it’ll sort itself out, but until then I guess i’ll have to wear a couple of pairs of socks, or something?

After a bad scoreline Saturday, I wasn’t in the mood to go out really, and stayed and dossed around playing on Xbox 360 mostly. I picked up Splinter Cell:Double Agent on rental from Blockbuster Friday night, and I was somewhat impressed. I say somewhat, because i’ve never been the BIGGEST fan of the Tom Clancy themed game; not to the level I am Rainbox Six or Ghost Recon. Despite that, I did enjoy playing multiplayer, which is fairly easily to pickup and probably even master, but maybe it was just easier because I was playing with two Splinter Cell nuts, in Cormac & MAZZY. Regardless, the game’s now back at blockbuster, will I buy it? Well, this is a big month in Xbox 360 land, and i’m not sure. I am a little tempted too, as I am with PES6, but i’m not sure if it’s worth it, given Gears Of War and Rainbow Six are weeks away now. Speaking of all this, I asked the fella in Gamestation today, how much I could get for Condemned, PGR3 and Battlefield 2:Modern Combat, on a trade in; apparently £54. Now i’m pretty chuffed about that, I think i’m going to take him up on that! :)

Moving back to Football, but of the overpaid variety, a good weekend all-round really. Well, almost, Liverpool DID win, but besides that everything was pretty sweet for me. Firstly, the might Oxford extended their run in the conference to 18 games unbeaten, with a 2-0 victory over Dag. & Red, retaining the 5pt lead at the top of the conference. Meanwhile, Man Utd recorded a tidy 3-0 victory over Portsmouth, whilst Arsenal and Chelsea both lost, to West Ham & Tottenham respectively. That leaves the Red Devils 3pts clear at the top of the premiership, something many pundits probably weren’t predicting, pre-season. Interesting times…

Outside of footy, and Xbox 360, of course today was ‘Bonfire Night’, for all those who aren’t British reading this, Google it! I spend the afternoon in town with Alicia, had to pickup a scarf too (my Oxford one has gone walkies!) and I hit up a display in the evening. It was, well firstly cold, that was unforgettable, god knows how you northerners suffered the weather for a few sparkles! Beyond that, it was kinda cool I suppose, but you know how it is, once you’ve seen 5 or 10 fireworks, you’ve seen them all, right?

So yeah, weekends through, and work is looming, that sucks. Let’s hope the week moves as quickly so another weekend is before us, oh, and yeah… We get to play KEA, AGAIN this week. :| Cannot wait. :|
