Oxford Utd 0 – 0 Morecambe
Alot has changed since I blogged about Oxford. Before my site’s ‘acciden’t we were unbeaten in the league, probably 9pts clear and looking dead cert to get back into the league by March. Football is a funny old game though, and sure enough our luck has taken a turn for the worst. There’s no doubt since that period we’ve switched places with teams like Stevenage, when it comes to form guide, I don’t think we’ve actually won in 30 days or so now. Of course, having no fit strikers hasn’t helped us, but it’s not the best excuse, is it?
So today’s game, was the evidence of a team lacking in confidence, and fire power, in killing off Morecambe. It’ll be a real shame if we mess this up, after setting TWO Conference records this season in seeing over 11,000 fans pile into the ‘stadium’ on Boxing day to see us bore the crap out of them with a 0-0 with Woking. Earlier in the season, we also recorded the longest run unbeaten, I think it was 19 games – they were the good days!
The BBC have put together a neat ‘video diary’ of Oxford’s progress in Non-League, have a look at that, via the Oxford Utd club page.
