Finmere @ Home…

Played at home against Finmere today, for my team ‘FC Callebaut’. Days like this, really make me wonder why i bother tho. As arrogant as it sounds, the other team, admitted that i was the only player causing them ‘problems’ and throughtout the game the made that known with shouts like ‘DON’T LET HIM TURN’ … Unfortuantely i didn’t really get much sight of goal because of it, but i made a impression, which is good! I’m still adapting to life on a full size pitch, the time, the weather… It’s such a different game to what i am used to. I am used to fast, frantic one touch play, which is a great asset to bring to the outdoor game, but it seems i gotta try and apply it in the right way, as well as try and pick up some of the more ‘unfamiliar’ stuff. I’m getting there!

The game in hand – Well we lost 6-1, but i am kinda upbeat, not for the team, but for my own performance. I played Centre Midfield and really managed to cause them problems… So yea, it was good for me there. The score? Well i guess it was to be expected when we only had 9 players on the pitch come 2nd half and from that, i’d say only 5 or so are anything ‘half decent’. Pretty embarrassing really, if it continues, i guess i’mma have to impress a different club, and move on…
The weather? Well this is England, so i guess i shouldn’t really moan too much, but i will! It was ABSOLUTELY awful. All morning it was so so nice, really sunny, i was wearing shorts (Yes in October!) but just as we got changed, come out of the changing rooms, it absolutely LASHED IT DOWN. From there on in, for about 75 mins. The kit was like one BIG sponge, really weighty and sticking to me, the pitch was slippy, and sticky at the same time.

Anyhow, despite it all, like i said, i kinda enjoyed it, results aside – ROLL on next saturday, more of the same, with maybe a better result, PLEASE?!
