Getting back into the swing of things…
…When it comes to Football that is. I’ve now played a solid couple of weeks (roughly 6 games, indoor, outdoor, astro) and i’m not injured. Off the back of a troublesome couple of years with injuries, I feel somewhat revitalised. The weekend was my first appearance back in the 11a side game for a few months, although I did have to endure warming the bench until the last 30mins. We won the game 3-1, despite a blustery day with an equally soggy pitch to boot, the pitch which robbed me a certain tap in, too. I felt like I could of played a little better, despite coming on, out of the cold, and I surely could feel my fitness has dropped too. I’ve been out runnning and cycling, in the rain this week and it’s made my legs ache like hell, but it feels worthwhile. Tonight at training I felt sharp and nimble and it was really encouraging, maybe I did well, or maybe it’s because we’ve a couple of players short this weekend (modest, you hear?), but i’m promised a start up top this weekend. Really looking foward to it, though I am very doubtful it’ll be on, our home pitch is actually pretty crap, and our last home game was called off, 2 weeks ago. The weather here, is actually quite terrible, very wet and even MORE windy, i’ve heard descriptions of news hitting 70mph, it’s quite freakish. I hate the wind, it seems SO pointless to me, i’d probably actually RATHER it rained, than be windy… Hope to bag a goal or more this weekend though, and hopefully not get injured again, I would love a decent run, i hate being the proverbial Darren Anderton – such talent, wasted!
