DSC-T50 + DIY Photoblog?

I’ve not had a great of time to play with it really, it came last night and needed the whole evening to charge, plus I wasn’t home. Immediate reactions though, are ‘Wow, it’s small, smaller than I expected!‘, & ‘That touch screen seems to make things ALOT easier to navigate through‘. I’ve not even put in a Memory Stick (…Duo Pro) into it yet, but it’s encouraging to see it has a nicely sized onboard memory, which allows for roughly 17 7Mpx pictures, set at ‘Fine’. I’m keen to have bit more of a play with it, but I need something worthwhile to take pictures OF!

Speaking of pictures, i’ve been looking at ways to implement an online photoblog/gallery on here, and i’ve seen all kinds of neat ideas i’d like to use, yet nothing solid i’d want to use. So, I spoke my buddy, Jay, who you may as Rain 501, or my fellow co-found of MatchBox360. He’s seemingly becoming a bit of a rails guru and so I wondered if he’d fancy working on a fresh new photoblog like system. Sure enough, by the end of the day of talking about it, he’d already chipped away with some nasty looking code that works. If we can collectively pull it off, it could be a very neat web app indeed, bringing web2.0 ideas, design, and backend coding that should be a pleasure to use. We shall see…

- Luke, you yourself might be interested in this, as a fellow blogger/photoblogger. If it works out nice, there’s a good chance it could be open to users beyond ourselves, we shall see. We’ve got 6 weeks to try and bring it together, before I leave, so here’s to hoping, because Coppermine is ugly as sin!
