Outside of gaming…

I was pleased to finally get around to calling O2 today, after seemingly being charged for a service I didn’t really want in the first place. I’ve had TWO contract phones now, for over a year, and the O2 phone I wanted to cancel about 8 months back, but they offered me a deal, whereby i’d not pay any money and still receieve the same tariff. What they failed to mention is this didn’t include my bolt-ons, which was 300 text messages, and thus my credit they had paid to me, had run out and so the phone was incurring me charges of £20 a month. Annoying consider i’d not turned the phone in months! Alas, after a brief chat with the fella from customer service, it was plain to see this was an error worthy of correcting and I was pleased to here him offer to fix the problem and thus credit me roughly £84. I’ve also wrote my letter to Vodafone, asking them to switch my phone from Contract to ‘Pay as you Talk’, with 30 days notice. I’ve still got it in my bag though, because my head is like a siv, I knew i’d forget to bloody post it!!

That’s 2 more things checked off, for my pre-travel thinking! :) Anyone interested in a PowerBook (1.67GHz G4/1.5Gb RAM) etc? Only 4 weeks and 5 days til I leave, crazy! Still got to do my travel insurance, though i’ve actually looked at it, via World Nomads, who are recommended by Lonely Planet; £190 for 7 months cover, doesn’t sound bad? That doesn’t cover loss of valuables though, I am not sure about this, should I? I’ll be taking my w900i, DSC-T50, iPod (60Gb), & maybe a PSP if I don’t sell it before (interested?). Hmm…

That reminds me, a colleague at work informs me, that behind my back my boss supposedly said it was a ‘shame’ i quit, because I could of made quite a future for myself, at my current employment. Quite how this is, I have no idea, but it does leave me feeling quite happy, afterall punctuality isn’t my strong point (shall I say?), yet it appears I am/was appreciated despite this?! Shame I have to hear it from a 3rd party though…

My place is the same mate :P Apparently I’m loved by all although never actually hearing anything first hand is a tad frustrating. And I’m completely with you on the whole punctuality front. My shift started at 8 this morning, where as I rolled in at the usual 9-9.15ish… Ho Hum..
