My dad, being the father of a gadget lover, slowly but surely is moving along with technology himself, he doesn’t own a computer – altho i’ll get him on a Mac one day, i swear… However he has a Smartphone with Bluetooth and a VGA Camera. A Digital Camera which shoots decent video and plays mp3′s… and now he’s looking at other stuff. He sent me a pic he took, from the TV the other nite. Cool part – he sent it wirelessly to my PowerMac via bluetooth, hip dad or WHAT? haha, i DID teach him everything he knows too! Heh… Anyhow – the pic –

It’s an Archos Gmini 400. In short, its a portable device with 2inch screen, about the size of an iPod with a 20Gb Hard Disc. In short, it’ll playback audio, video, play games and a few other things, and he believed it captured Video too. However i am kinda sure it doesn’t… That requires a slighly more expensive model – I was looking at the Archos AV420/440 models which DO, capture video and even allow scheduling of video record like TiVO. Really cool stuff, i’d love to have a play with one…

Anyhow, we were talking about Christmas, and how its like – i dunno 10 weeks or so away… So i really need to try and get him one of these lil’ things, would make his day no doubt… hmmm…

My Brother isn’t quite so hard to figure, he’s saving for a 20″ iMac G5, so he is after all the cash he can get his scrooge like hands on….
