Anyone who knows me, ‘inside’ the web will know my love affair for Google. I use pretty much all their products and services, often substituting desktop apps for web apps in exchange. Of course this included the not so popular, yet interoperable jabber service, Google Talk. I’ve forced many friends onto the service (purely down to my obvious hard hitting character no less… ), and i’m pleased to see Google’s now released a ‘gadget’ for Google Talk. The gadget offers both Google Homepage users and anyone else who fancies giving it a try, via this code which inserts the gadget for you. So, you can IM from your blog or other personal website in a sinch! They’ve also included support for Picasa Web Albums (which also recently was upgraded to 1Gb and growing storage, among other features), and YouTube support, so if you happen to link to either service inside Gtalk, you’re media will be loaded on the fly; neat!
If you don’t already have a Google Homepage, you ought to. Just off the top of my head, I know I have access (all on one page) to my Spredsheets, Documents, Instant Messaging, Email, RSS, Bookmarks – all from any computer in the world; that is why you have to love Google… Right?
