Insurance done, finally.

With 4 days left, I finally took the plunge and sorted out my travel insurance. In the end, after speaking to many people at work, I opted out of paying £50 extra for my valuables. I’m only taking 3 items with me, and damn, if lose them, well, things could be worse, right? So long as I take backups for my pictures, and have a number to pause my contract with Vodafone, sod worrying. If I worried, and took no risks, I wouldn’t be going on this trip in the first place, right?

The insurance was a hefty £161, which does include the USA & also a rather nice donation of £2 to Blindess prevention programme, in Vietnam. Interstingly World Nomads also offer some extra incentives to take their cover, one being a photo and blog account. I don’t intend to use them, but maybe Jay’s too busy and I might have  to? We’ll see… Alas, if you feel like syndicating, just to be on the safe side, here’s the address.

One thing I had to fill out in the forms, was a ‘Swift code’ which was relevant to banking. How many of you have even heard of a ‘Swift Code’? Yes I had to Google it too…

Also picked up a 4Gb Memory Stick Duo Pro, for my DSC-T50 digital camera. Pleased to see this equates to 3hrs 6mins of video at 640×480 (30fps) or 1170 pictures at 7Mpx. Impressive ay? Well pleased! :)

Funny enough most of my payments come via international banking i.e. swift codes or IBAN accounts.
