Xbox Live: No more free lunch.

My account was ‘up’ from January 11th, and up until today, i’ve had Gold membership with about 20 emails telling me to update my billing information. Alas, I didn’t want to update my billing information, because I don’t want Gold anymore. Calling Microsoft (and speaking to some sort of Europeans) only confused matters more, so I decided to just hope it’d migrate to silver automatically. Apparently not, Xbox.com doesn’t really like me anymore, and now I can’t even actually sign into Xbox Live. Looks like I do have to call them, a third time, it should be simple, and i am sure if they were British, it would be. I’ve emailed customer support with a simple request to be demoted to Silver, because I won’t be in the UK for 6 months. If that fails, i’ll try calling them *again*. :(

Luke, if you happen to know anyone who could get this done, please be my guest, It’s pretty damn annoying. Why can’t I do it from the Xbox? I can update my card details, but I cannot cancel Gold, or remove credit cards, that’s annoying!

Not that I really have time for Live at the moment, but yeah, you won’t be seeing me on Live this side of autumn it appears…

    Nope, sorry Steve but you’ll have to deal with Xbox customer services to get it sorted.

    Thats not good mate, was going to wish you good luck when I saw you on live before you left but looks like that won’t be happening. So good luck mate, enjoy. Who is going to take the piss out of Essex and chavs now?
