Abel Tasman

Continuing the theme of blogging, courtesy of free WIFI and Nintendo DS, here’s another one!

Just got back from a 2 day hike in Abel Tasman National Park, near Nelson, New Zealand. The first day was pretty boring, mostly consisting of a track, alot of trees and pointless chit-chatter. Our hut for the night was far from homely too, but we made the best of he situation. Choosing to drag our prison like mattresses to the room with a far and surrounding it! Going to sleep due to lack of light was a bit annoying – sunset was at 5.30 or so. Led to alot of sleeping! The next days walk was far more interesting with some great views and 2 adventurous low tide crossings!

Glad though to be back in Nelson with a nice bed, electricity and hot food (sick of egg sandwich!). Onto Westport tomorrow, and after 20 miles walking, planing on an easy one… :)
