Ok, so… We’ve moved.

After working from 10am, through to 7pm, we did it. The house is, now, one massive mess! There’s boxes everywhere, and you can’t find half the stuff you’re looking for. But I guess that’s to be expected really, with any move.

Not only did it seem to take the best part of 9hrs to move, but also 6 trips, back and forth, loading and unloading the bloody van. By the fourth and fifth trips it really was quite telling, and between myself, Rich and my dad you could see it was wearing us down. None of us really wanted to carry on lugging countless items, on and off the van, but we kept going. I sit here writing this, genuinely exhausted. It has been a killer of a day, and I surely don’t want to do this again in a hurry. Staying up til 12 midnight really has been a mean feat!

So, the house? Well first impressions are mixed, the ‘hood isn’t all that, but I knew that given the locale. It seems there’s a pikey kid, and indeed probably a whole family of them, next door. The kid loitered, and mainly hindered us unloading the van constantly asking…

Do you want that? … Got anything you don’t want?

I’m sure he means well, but it sure does set the tone. Asides from the location, the house isn’t too bad really. We all kinda get the impression it’s a house that recently had a big makeover, so that’s kinda cool in someways. The finish is evidently rushed, but it could be worse. The house is a whole lot bigger than the last too – which is definitely welcomed – The room I share with my bro :x is double the size. It really should of been a three bed house, it’s strange why one of the bedrooms is exactly half the length of the house. Not to worry, it’s kinda nice having a bedroom so big, just a shame i have to share it!

The rest of the house too, is pretty well sized by comparison, so that’s good. The kitchen has caused a few problems though – we now have two Fridge-Freezers, two Washing machines, and no-where to install the Dish-Washer. Looks like one of us needs to get a woman quick then! …haha.

I can hear the kettle boiling, and i am curious whether this telephone line even works, so i’m done for tonight. I am definitely due a good night’s sleep, gonna be just as busy tomorrow, sorting all these damn boxes out. :x

So the telephone doesn’t seem to work. BT gave us a new number, and we can dial that number, so the connection to the locale ‘exchange’ for that number seems to work. The two connections in the house, don’t.. Weird. So this blog posting is delayed – which means I am sat up in bed adding to it. It’s been a hectic day, and alot to take in, and digest. So it’s kinda nice to have my PowerBook, i have boxes and boxes for my main computer, but with this, I can whip it out, and type away. :)

Blog’s are strange things really, I mean, to be brutally honest, I don’t care if nobody reads it! It’s just nice to be kinda sharing your thoughts and views, and getting them out there… Weird. If someone reads it, well more fool them!

Asides from the quirks, and all, we all kinda agree that this place is only really a temporary solution, it’s not the place any of us really want, so the chances are, by the time the lease renewal comes round – about October, we won’t be renewing. It’s day one, and it might seem a little harsh to be judging it all so early, but I don’t see a lot of positives in it really. I am weary of the neighbours, and people in the area. There’s a tonne of kids constantly in and around… It’s just not cool really, I can’t see any of us being able to relax and settle. But the most important thing is we found somewhere for now, so I can’t really moan. Although I HATED moving today, and all the hard work and hassle that caused, i am looking forward to moving away from here, and being able to completely choosy, come Autumn time. :) For me, that’s something to look forward to… :D
